The Year of the Tiger
Chinese New Year Starts on February 14th this year and is the year of the Tiger. We had a very nice Chinese New Year and Valentines day Celebration. We stayed home this year and decided to avoid the crowds in the restaurants. We focused on our family and started the festivities with home-made valentines. Julie made a special dinner and we were joined by Grandpa Ed. The next day we had a quiet day and watched old home movies of the family from our trips to China and when Maddy was younger. Click on the Group 88 Celebration Link above to see pictures of the famous dumpling making factory and dinner that happened a little later in the Chinese New Year cycle. Chinese New Year offically ends on February 28, this year with the Lantern Festival. That means Spring is just around the corner (somewhere in the world)!
